PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Family Support Worker I develops trusting partnerships with families and community.
The FSW I supports families in using family strengths to build skills for self-sufficiency and improved quality of life.
The FSW I assists families in identifying and reaching their own goals.
In collaboration with families, Center and Area Teams, and community partners; the FSW I supports families' development of leadership and advocacy skills in order to improve outcomes for their children.
In order to show the needs and progress made by families, the FSW I will document all immigration cases in Lawlogix.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; however, other duties may be assigned:
Immigration Services Prepare and manage case files.
Screen potential clients for immigration benefits.
Conduct initial interviews.
Schedule appointments.
Assist families with Power of Attorney.
Conduct FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests.
File Family Based Petitions.
Assist with the Adjustment of Status.
Assist with reunification procedures for unaccompanied minors (ORR).
Renewal of Legal Permanent Residence (Green Card).
Help complete DACA initial and renewal applications.
Assist the community with citizenship applications.
Coordinate clinics for citizenship if applicable.
Educate eligible families regarding the fee waiver.
Support centers and areas with Know your Rights workshops and security planning.
Participate in clinics and workshops at RCMA centers and with community partners.
Provide limited assistance in the following cases:
Asylum U-Visas and T-Visas SIJIS Cancellation of removal TPS VAWA Assist with other relief as needed.
Keep parents and staff informed regarding changes/updates in Immigration policies.
Keep up-to-date with changes in immigration law.
Assist with translations of documents as needed for immigration purposes.
Family Services Facilitate notarization of documents as needed for immigration purposes.
Assist with transportation to immigration check-ins and immigration court hearings unless represented by RCMA immigration team.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:

Obtain the Department of Justice, DOJ, accreditation within a year of holding the position of the FSW I Bilingual in English and Spanish EDUCATION:
A minimum of High School Diploma OTHER:
Office location is flexible within the RCMA service area including Labelle, Mulberry, or Wimauma.
Required to work flexible hours that may include two evenings per week and one weekend per month.
Must be age 21 or older and have a Florida driver's license and privately owned vehicle to be used for business purposes.
Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver License to operate a School Bus within 30 days, if required for the work location.
Driving record acceptable to RCMA's insurance carrier is required.
Ability to work with staff, families, and professionals.
